The T-28 Trojan is supplied as a Plug-N-Play (PNP) model, meaning the motor, ESC, and servos are pre-installed. Minimal assembly is required to get your aircraft ready for flight.
- 6-9 Channel Transmitter (TX) and Receiver (RX)
- 14.8V 4S 2200mAh 40C Li-Po Battery
- Compatible Li-Po Battery Charger
- Adapter (if necessary for your charger/battery)
Carefully attach the main wings to the fuselage. Ensure all connections are secure and control surfaces move freely.
Attach the horizontal and vertical stabilizers. Verify that the rudder and elevator servos are connected and functioning correctly with your receiver.
The servoless electric retracts are pre-installed. Ensure they extend and retract smoothly.
Securely attach the 10x6 3-blade propeller to the motor shaft. Double-check that it is tightened properly.
Install your 6-9 channel receiver into the designated compartment within the fuselage. Connect all servo leads (aileron, elevator, rudder, throttle, retracts) to the appropriate channels on your receiver.
Place the 14.8V 4S 2200mAh 40C Li-Po battery in the battery compartment. Secure it with the provided straps or Velcro to prevent shifting during flight.
Before connecting the battery, ensure your transmitter is on and bound to the receiver. Perform a range check and verify that all control surfaces (ailerons, elevator, rudder) move in the correct direction relative to your stick inputs.
The FLIIT AF Model T-28 Trojan is controlled via a remote control (transmitter). It is designed for outdoor use and beginner skill levels.
- Check battery charge level on both the aircraft and transmitter.
- Verify control surface movement and direction.
- Perform a final visual inspection for any damage or loose parts.
- Choose an open, clear area for flight, free from obstacles and people.
With the landing gear extended, place the aircraft on a smooth, flat surface. Gradually increase throttle while applying slight up-elevator to lift off. For hand launch, ensure a strong, level throw into the wind.
Controls roll (banking left/right).
Controls pitch (nose up/down for ascent/descent).
Controls yaw (nose left/right).
Operate the landing gear (up/down) via a dedicated switch on your transmitter.
Practice gentle maneuvers at a safe altitude until you are comfortable with the controls. The remote control range is approximately 500 meters.
Approach the landing strip into the wind. Reduce throttle and maintain a controlled descent using the elevator. Extend landing gear. Aim for a gentle touchdown, gradually reducing throttle to idle upon contact with the ground.
After each flight, wipe down the aircraft with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt, grass, or debris.
Regularly check the propeller for cracks, chips, or damage. Replace damaged propellers immediately to ensure safe and efficient flight.
Ensure all hinges and linkages for ailerons, elevator, and rudder are free-moving and secure.
ESC: Keep the motor and ESC free from dust and debris. Ensure adequate airflow for cooling.
- Always use a compatible Li-Po charger.
- Do not overcharge or over-discharge Li-Po batteries.
- Store Li-Po batteries in a cool, dry place, ideally in a fire-safe bag, at a storage voltage (around 3.8V per cell).
Inspect the electric retracts for smooth operation and any signs of wear or damage.
| Transmitter not turned on; receiver not bound; low battery (TX or RX); loose connections. | Ensure TX is on; re-bind receiver; charge/replace batteries; check all wiring connections. |
| Motor not spinning. | Throttle trim too low; ESC not armed; motor/ESC connection loose; damaged motor/ESC. | Increase throttle trim; ensure throttle stick is at lowest position when connecting battery; check connections; inspect for damage. |
| Aircraft flies erratically or crashes. | Incorrect control surface direction; unbalanced propeller; strong winds; damaged airframe. | Verify control directions; replace propeller; avoid flying in strong winds; repair/replace damaged parts. |
| Landing gear not retracting/extending. | Servo connection loose; damaged retract mechanism; insufficient power. | Check servo connections; inspect retracts for obstructions or damage; ensure battery is adequately charged. |
