We recommend keeping your drumbeam’s firmware up to date.
To install a new firmware, follow these steps:
- Connect drumbeam to your computer via USB-C.
- While plugging in the cable, hold the inner button (B).
- drumbeam will appear as a removable drive

Some operating systems may display an error after copying the file- this is normal and does not affect the update.

The first step after unboxing is to install the multi-mount, so you can attach drumbeam to your setup.
The base of the mount already comes pre-installed. To mount drumbeam to a stand or clamp, attach the included rod and tighten it with the supplied wrench.
Depending on the orientation, the rod diameter is 11 mm or 13 mm fitting most common drum and percussion clamps.
The rod also has an 8 mm internal thread, allowing it to be screwed on many cymbal stands or our custom desk stand.
You can adjust the tilt resistance to your liking by tightening the hex screw with the included allen key.

Use the included USB-C cable to connect drumbeam to a computer or USB power supply (e.g. a phone charger). It will power on automatically.
The higher the power output, the brighter the LEDs can shine. We recommend a stable power source to avoid dropouts.
Play digital: Just select drumbeam in your DAW, VST instrument or mobile app no drivers required.

Presets: drumbeam comes with several stock presets. Need more? Create, edit, or delete presets directly in the browser-based configuration app – no installation needed.

With the config app, you can fine-tune every aspect of your drumbeam – presets, segments, colors, MIDI behaviour, and more.
To configure your drumbeam: Power it via USB-C & connect to its Wi-Fi network:

Button B -Load next preset. Hold the button to temporarily stop sending MIDI Notes.
Press both buttons on startup to reset drumbeam.
USB-C Powers the device (min. 0.4 A) and handles USB-MIDI in/out.
Trigger In For external piezo triggers (optimized for Roland KT models).
MIDI Out Sends MIDI via TRS Type A.
MIDI In Receives MIDI via TRS Type A.

All changes live but temporary. Unplug-ging-drumbeam resets everything to the last saved state. To make your tweaks permanent, tap Save. An asterisk (*) next to the preset name indicates unsaved changes

Сегментот View lets you configure each segment of a preset individually. Tap on a segment or strike it on the drumbeam to select it.
Use the plus and trash icons to add or delete segments. The back arrow get’s you back to the Preset View. All settings only apply for the selected segment. Sending CCs works best on bigger segments.
Velocity Curve – Shape how your playing affects velocity. Linear is default.
CC Range Tweak the CC range or set a fixed value. Default: O (left) to 127 (right).
CC Curve Select how CC values react across the segment. (Linear on default)

Note Choose the MIDI note of the segment. Tap to open the note selector grid.
Note Length Set how long the note is held (ms) after hitting.
CC Assign the Control Change number controlled by the in-zone position.
Channel Set the MIDI channel for your selected segment.
Width Adjusts the segment’s size on the device, other segments re-scale to fit.
Colors Pick the colors for the front and audience side. Click Link to sync both sides.
Velocity Range Set the min/max velocity output by using the slider.

Tap the three dots on the left or the header (showing the device’s MIDI name) to open the main menu.

New -Creates a new preset in the current slot. This will overwrite the existing preset and cannot be undone.
Library Name, order, copy, paste, or reset your presets. drumbeam has 8 banks, each holding 8 presets – for a total of 64 presets (no empty slots).
