Step 1: Remove Existing Lock Hardware

If replacing an existing lock, begin by removing the old hardware. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew the mounting screws on both the door knob and the deadbolt. Carefully pull the old knob and deadbolt assemblies from the door, followed by the latch mechanisms from the door edge.

Step 2: Install New Latch Mechanisms

Insert the new latch mechanisms into the door edge holes. Ensure they are oriented correctly (the bevel of the latch should face the door frame). Secure them with the provided small screws. The latch for the knob and the deadbolt are installed similarly.

Step 3: Install Door Knob

Align the spindle of the exterior knob with the latch mechanism. Slide the interior knob onto the spindle, ensuring the alignment tabs engage correctly. Secure the knob assembly with the medium-sized screws provided, tightening them carefully to avoid scratching the finish. Using tape around the screwdriver shaft can help prevent scratches.

Step 5: Install Strike Plates

Install the strike plates on the door frame, aligning them with the latches of the knob and deadbolt. Secure them with the remaining screws. Ensure the door closes and latches smoothly without binding.

To lock the door from the exterior, insert the key into the knob or deadbolt cylinder and turn. To unlock, turn the key in the opposite direction. From the interior, the knob can be locked/unlocked by turning the small button on the knob, and the deadbolt by turning the thumbturn.
