- Install four (4) high-quality, name-branded, alkaline AA batteries. It is recommended to use batteries with an expiration date 8-10 years from the current year for optimal performance. Generic and rechargeable batteries may not provide sufficient lifespan.

2. Setting Your Digital Combination

- Press the programming button again to confirm your new combination.
- Test your new combination with the door open before closing the safe.
3. Securing the Safe
The SentrySafe QAP1E can be secured using the included bolt-down kit or tether cable.
- Bolt-Down Installation: The safe features pre-drilled holes for permanent mounting. Use the provided hardware to secure the safe to a solid surface such as a floor or shelf.
- Tether Cable Installation: Feed the tether cable through the designated slot on the safe and around a secure, immovable object (e.g., bed frame, car seat anchor). When the safe is closed and locked, the cable will be secured.

- Press any button to activate the keypad. The buttons will illuminate.
- Enter your programmed combination.
- Upon successful entry, the safe's lid will automatically open due to the integrated gas strut, providing quick, single-handed access.

2. Opening with Override Key
In case of battery failure or forgotten combination, the safe can be opened using the provided override key.
- Insert the override key into the keyhole on the front panel of the safe.
- Turn the key to the unlock position.
