The sensor requires 2 AAA batteries. Open the battery compartment, insert the batteries according to the polarity markings, and close the compartment.
2. Pairing with a Zigbee Hub:
- Ensure your Zigbee hub (e.g., Echo (4th Gen), Echo Plus, SmartThings, Hubitat) is powered on and in pairing mode.
- Put the motion sensor into pairing mode. (Specific method may vary, typically involves pressing and holding a button on the sensor until an indicator light flashes).
- For Echo devices, say "Alexa, discover devices." The Echo device will automatically discover the sensor.
- For other hubs, follow the hub's specific instructions for adding a new Zigbee device.
- Once paired, the sensor will appear in your hub's device list.

The sensor is designed for indoor use only. It can be mounted on a wall or placed on a flat surface using the provided double-sided tape or screws. Once paired, the sensor will automatically detect motion within its field of view. When motion is detected, it sends a signal to your connected Zigbee hub. The sensor has a typical cooldown period of approximately 30-35 seconds between detections to conserve battery life.

Creating Routines and Automations:

- Sensor Not Connecting/Unreachable:
Ensure the sensor is within range of your Zigbee hub. Check battery levels. If issues persist, try a factory reset: remove batteries, press and hold the reset button (if available), reinsert batteries while holding the button, then release. Re-attempt pairing. Some users have reported success by performing multiple factory resets or holding the reset button while reinserting batteries.
- False Motion Detections:
Ensure the sensor is not placed near heat sources (e.g., vents, direct sunlight) or in areas with significant air currents, which can cause false triggers. Pet-friendly design minimizes false alerts from small pets, but larger pets might still trigger it depending on placement.
- Motion Not Detected:
Verify the sensor's placement and ensure there are no obstructions blocking its field of view. Check battery levels. Confirm the sensor is properly paired with your hub.
