Your HMF Vintage 3-Digit Combination Padlock comes preset to 0-0-0. Follow these steps to set your personal combination:
- Ensure the padlock is set to the current combination (factory default is 0-0-0).

- Rotate the shackle 90 degrees (a quarter turn) counter-clockwise from the open position.
- Press the shackle down firmly into the lock body, ensuring it stays depressed.
- While holding the shackle down, set your desired 3-digit combination by rotating the dials. Choose a memorable number.
- Release the shackle. It should spring back up slightly.
- Rotate the shackle back to its original open position (another 90 degrees clockwise).
- Scramble the dials to lock the padlock. Your new combination is now set.
Note: It is highly recommended to write down your new combination and store it in a safe place. If you forget your combination, there is no master key or override function to open the lock.

- Keep the padlock clean and free from dust and debris. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid exposing the padlock to extreme temperatures or harsh chemicals, which may damage the finish or internal mechanism.
- If the dials become stiff, a small amount of graphite lubricant (not oil) can be applied to the moving parts.
